Fearless

When Dan's cousin called us to say her family was going to be in our neck of the woods a few weeks ago, we jumped at the chance to spend some time with them.  In fact, in my excitement, I invited them over for lunch, forgetting in my haste that we didn't have any bread, milk, butter, vegetables or really any food in general to offer.  Well, we probably had fruit snacks and juice, but that is just a staple around here.  (Pregnancy has given me an aversion to grocery shopping, which is strange because I still like to eat.  If it weren't for Dan, we'd be eating chips and salsa every night for dinner.  I'm not sure whether to be grateful or mad at him.)  Needless to say, we ended up at McDonald's where I tried to take this picture as the kids stared past me in wonder at the giant playland.

Afterward we went to Dan's cousin's sister-in-law's (did you get all that?), where the toddlers had fun scaring their parents by trying to get the horses to either trample them or bite off an appendage.  H insisted on riding one before we left.  Being the brave mother that I am, I gave her my permission and then just blindly pointed the camera in her general direction, stared at the ground, prayed, and clicked away.
