Just to Add Fuel to the Fire...

Dan and I decided to vote early this year because we've realized after making the mistake time and time again that Election Day is actually the worst day to vote.  Sure the "I Voted" sticker isn't as cool to wear on my shirt a week and a half before the actual election, but that was a fashion faux pau I was willing to make.

Although H is still pretty young, I decided this would be a great opportunity to get her excited about the democratic process and this great country we live in.  So I talked with her a little about voting and the candidates as I bathed her and combed her hair that Saturday morning.  Then it came time to get dressed and I got out her special election day shirt.

It's a little hard to read in that picture.  Let me zoom in...

Still a little hard to read.  It says  "the One" with Obama in smaller lettering underneath.

Needless to say, Dan was not impressed.  He refused to be seen in public with her wearing that shirt, and he lucked out only because it was much too warm outside for her to be wearing a turtleneck.  He wouldn't even pose for a picture with her while she was wearing it.  I think he's afraid it will come back to haunt him when he runs for office.  (He should probably be more worried about that horrible haircut he had in high school.)

Oh well, I still thought it was funny.  I guess we'll just save it for a victory day shirt.

By the way, don't feel too sorry for Dan.  For every dig I get on McCain, Dan punishes me with ten anti-Democrat or pro-McCain articles.  My e-mail box at work is just full of them.  We only get one ballot each, anyway, and this year we just used our votes to cancel eachother out.
