How to Win An Argument...
Get a blog, only tell your side of the story, and declare yourself the winner.
This is just a follow-up post to the discussion Dan and I had a few weeks ago about whether or not there is such a song Born on the Fourth of July.
Maybe some of you have heard of a little film called Yankee Doodle Dandy touted as "one of Hollywood's greatest, grandest and slickest musicals."

Well, here are the lyrics to this movie's theme song:
I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy
A Yankee Doodle, do or die
A real live nephew of my Uncle Sam
Born on the Fourth of July
Another more recent song called The Remedy by Jason Mraz goes like this:
I saw fireworks from the freeway
And behind closed eyes I cannot make them go away
'Cause you were born on the fourth of july, freedom ring
Now something on the surface it stings
So if it's possible to win one argument twice, I think I just did. (Don't get stuck on the technicality that neither of the songs are actually titled Born on the Fourth of July.)
I'd like to thank everyone who had a part in this research, including Dan's mom, my grandpa, Karen from work, Laurel, and everyone else who showed me their support when I needed it most. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.
Oh and Dan, if you want to win, get your own blog.

YEEEEEEEEEEEAS!!!!! What's even awesomer is how you won x2!
I joyfully read this entry to my husband and he was like "yah, husbands don't have blogs." So I guess they'll just run the risk of repeatedly losing arguments.

Yeah, I think both of those songs were written in the 80's and originally sung by Bruce Springstein. Nice try, Megan.
