Born on the Fourth of July

Yesterday Dan and I were making cookies and discussing the Fourth of July when the subject turned to birthdays.  We started naming a few people we know who have birthdays on the Fourth.  From there, it just got ugly...

Me:  It would be cool to have been born on Fourth of July.  Just like the song.
Dan:  You mean the movie?
Me:  No, the song, Born on the Fourth of July.
Dan:  That's a movie.  There's a song called Born in the USA, is that what you mean?
Me:  No, I mean the song.
Dan:  How does it go?
Me (in my most melodious voice I sing as much as I can remember):  I was born on the Fourth of July.
Dan:  Who sings it?
Me:  I'm not sure.  Someone singer from the eighties, I think.
Dan:  Bon Jovi?
Me:  No.  Someone else.
Dan:  Bruce Springsteen?
Me:  Yeah, maybe Bruce Springsteen.
Dan:  Bruce Springsteen sings Born in the USA.
Me:  <angry silence>
Dan (in his most melodious voice): I was born on the fourth of September.
Me:  That's not a song.
Dan:  Neither is Born on the Fourth of July.
Me: <more angry silence>

The same topic was brought up with my brother and his wife later that evening with similar results.  (Thank you, Lissa, for taking my side.)  So you can see my dilemma.  I can't be wrong on this even if I'm wrong on this.  I can't find a song by that title through Google or Yahoo Search (I did find a lot of references to the movie, however), but I refuse to give up.  Dan must be put in his place.

In spite of all this, the annual barbecue and fireworks in Morgan proved to be really nice.  And we discovered Little H loves fireworks.  It probably helped her mood that she was stuffed full of sugar and Cheetos the entire night.  I hope you all had a nice celebration, too!

That's very curious,I think I've even read about this condition. It's a gene that causes a person, who even when faced with overwhelming evidence, refuses to accept that they might be wrong. It's passed through the maternal side, but is usually beaten into repression in males. ( I might even know where you got it from).

I was thinking that there could be a comedy show written from the things that you say and the arguments you get into, Megan.
